AT THE LIBERTY
Quaint .-humor and) .sparkling
comedy have been blended; -with ro
mance and tense drama, through a
rare combination of writers In the

which opens at the Liberty theatre
tomorrow.
The picture, which stars William
Powell and Joan Blondell, Is taken
from the novel by Max Trell who was
born arid raised in New fork city
and knows from experienbe the East
Side characters with which the story
deals. But fiery wit ani sparkling
reparteo has been added by the pons
of James Seymour and Bian James,
the latter a New York columnist
noted for his pungent remarks.
Powell plays the part ot an honest
young lawyer who comes lip against
big city politicians. The picture 16
filled with thrilling scenes in crim
inal Court trials, while Its plot lays
bare the machinatiohs of New York
politics. It Is colorful In settings
and contains gay romance.
