ing two falls out of three, Gus Son
nenberg. of Boston, defeated Wong
Bock Cheung, Chicago Chinese,. In the
main event of last night's wrestling
matches here, Sonnenberg weighed
300 pounds and Cheung, 212.
The Boston grappler won the first
fail In 15 minutes with a crotch and
half nelson. The Chinese evened the
match 7 minutes later with a Man
churlan choke. Sonnenberg took the
deciding fall In 17 minutes with a
flying tackle followed by another
crotch and half nelson.
Walter Podolak, 208, Syracuse, N.
Y., won the seml-wlndup from Nora
Jerlstrom, 214, Chicago. Jcrlstrom was
unable to return to the ring after

United States Ryder cup team was
on Its way to England today, with
high hopes of bringing back the tro
phy despite the record of the pro
fessional series, which always has
been won by the "home" team. The
toom. led by Walter Hagen, sailed on
he Aqultanla at midnight and Is due
to roach England next Wednesday.
On paper, the veteran American
team appeared much stronger than
the British squad It is to meet at
Southport June 26 and 27. Of the
ten members of the squad, only Olln
Dutra and Paul Runyan never have
competed far the trophy. Hagen has
played on all four previous United
States teams while Gene Saranen and
Leo Dlegel have taken part in the

Zooming hydroplanes, speedy Inboard
cruisers and trim sailing yachts will
be the attractions that are expected
to bring 10,000 persons to tills town
for the Mid-Columbia river regatta
which Is scheduled for July 3 and 4.

spectators are to be erected on the
Port of Vancouver docks from which
the races will be viewed.
More than 30 outboard croft, In
eluding some of ttoe fastest on the
Pacific coast, have already been en
tered In the hydroplane events and
additional entries are arriving dally.
Although not on the original program
a race for inboard cruisers was added
to the schedulo of ovents when sev
eral fast entries asked for recogni
tion. Yacht clubs In the Portland area
will furnish most of the competition
in the sailing boat races which will
be held simultaneously with the out
board events but on an adjoining
course.' The major regatta events will
be held on July 4 beginning at 10 a.
m. with preliminary, races and other

prospect of a smaller future supply,
the tax could bo smaller, since Wal

tax which, at Its maximum represents
the difference, between the current
price and the "parity price" which Is
