Man Facing Death
Accuses Another
Of Causing Injury
SEATTLE, Oct. 13 MP) A man, fac
ing death with a broken back. Prank
Simpson, today accused another hunt
er of having deliberately pushed him
over a 30-foot cliff In the Green
river district a week ago, and on the
basis of hla description of the al
leged assailant authorities began a
wldepsread search for him.
Aroused only to bring the accusa
tion when a physician at the Auburn
hospital where he was taken told
him he could not recover. Simpson
summoned bis wife to tell her and
then gave an account of the affmy to
police. Chief Deputy Prosecutor Em
mett G. Lenlhan was also called.
While hunting on the Green river
near Black Diamond on the morn
ing of the 8th, Simpson said, he saw
a bear rambling along below him and
he fired twice at the beast, missing
both times. In a few moments an
other hunter appeared and berated
htm for missing. Simpson went on to
say, and during a quarrel and ensu
ing struggle he was pushed over the
cliff.
"I landed with a crash," he said,
"and knew I was badly hurt. I lay
there more than four hours before
help came, because I couldn't budge

4 tablespoons flour. ,
3 cups milk.
2-3 cup cheese.
H teaspoon salt.
teaspoon pepper.
V teaspoon celery salt.
1 egg yolk.
Melt butter and add flour. Blend
and add milk and cook until creamy
sauce forms. Stir constantly. Add
cheese and cook slowly and stir con
stantly until melted. Add rest of In
gredients. Beat 1 minute. Serve at
once. .....
Deep Dish Apple Pie Crust
2 cups flour. - -
2 teaspoons baking powder.
VA teaspoon salt.
8 tablespoons iard.
4 tablespoons milk.
Mix the flour, baking powder and
salt. Cut In the lard and slowly add
the milk. When a stiff dough forms,
pat It out and fit over the apple mix
ture. ,
Apple Mixture i
3 cups sliced apples.
1 cup sugar.
2 tablespoons flout.
1 teaspoon cinnamon. .
H teaspoon nutmeg. '
14 teaspoon cloves,
teaspoon salt,
4 tablespoons butter.
14 cup water.
Mix Ingredients. Pour Into shallow
pan. Add crust. Make 4 slits in top
and bake 40 minutes In moderate
own. Serve plain or with cream.
