TO STOP FOR
THE ROUND-UP
PENDLETON, Ore.t July 23 W
Between 1800 and 2000 veterans, the
first contingent of delegates to the
American Legion convention at Port
land, .will arrive here on special trains
for the Pendleton Round-Up, Sept. 8.
0 and 10, JU3t previous to their own
. sessions, it was announced here by
railroad officials. '
The trains will be parked In the
railroad yards to accomodate the vet
erans during their stay. Special pro-
grams nave oeen announced, by the
Round -Up association which Is co
operating with the legion convention
committee in providing entertainment
for the delegates.
The Indian ceremonial , dances,
which began at Cayuse on July 4, as
a preliminary to the Round-Up, .have

some of the braves hod to bo carried
from the grounds as a result of their
continuous dancing.

created them, has gone, but Blllle
Burke, the widow of tho famous pro
ducer, left no doubt as to what her

go on," Miss Burke, a star of the
screen In the silent picture days and
who at the time of her husband's
death was making her first talking
production, announced she would not
dlsnppoint her employers by delaying
the completion of the picture In

Miss Burke said sheiLwould return
to the R-K-O studios on . Wednesday
to resume work, and that she hoped
to be able to carry on despite the
shock of her husband's death.
