At last, we have found a true fish
story and It comes from small Billy
Phy, too young to have succumbed
to the temptations of his elders In
this respect. While he and his nurse,
Mlts Crew, were visiting at the home
of Mls3 Clara Fries 'in tho Pleasant
Grove district, a place that abounds
In small streams, he did hto first
angling and did It successfully. He
returned with a report of two fish
and had the proof ln his hands.
Birthdays are always kindly re
membered at this place. The last to
bo observed was the sevonty-nfth an
niversary of Mre. Harriet MacDonald
last Thursday. Congratulations; gifts,
flowers and a cake that was almost a
conflagration when Its 76 candles
were all lighted, mado the day a very
happy one.
Miss Mary McAvoy Is making her
second visit to the sanatorium resting
and taking baths and enjoying her
vacation. Miss McAvoy Is a graduate
of the Cornish School of Dancing In
Seattle and 13 a teacher of dancing ln
Aberdeen, Wash., also of physical cul
ture lh the high school at that place.
James R. Lusk, prominent citizen
of Bohse, a former guest and friend of
the late Dr. W. T. Phy, Is spending a
few days at the sanatorium.
J. E. Rhodes, of Seattle, Is visiting
his wife who Is a patient ln the hos
pital. Mr. Rhodes camo by cor thla
time thereby being able to visit

COVE (Special) The cherry har
vest Is at He height, the orchards
aro full of pickers, and both of the
packing houses are running full tilt.
At the co-operative packing house
there are two belts, ln operation, that
will accommodate about 30 packers
and nearly as many sorters, besides
all the extra help needed, such as
weighers, nailers, boxmakers, stamp
ers, etc., besides any number of men
needed In handling the cherries, to
put them on the tables, etc. It is
1 certainly a busy place and to the on-
looker It most nearly resembles a
bec - hlve. . Then too, there Is always

tism. The baptized persons were Mrs
R..F. Mustek, Gertrude and Roberta
Bell, Mr. and Mrs. Fred White, Helen
Van Vl'ack and .Thomas Jones; Mrs
Jones. Mrs, Mllmau, Mrs. Richardson
and- Mrs. Alice Van, yiacfc also ber
came members of the' church. Elder
Turner, of Boise, Ida., president of
the conference; was In charge of the
baptism. Others present were Prof.
Bovlnaton. of Caldwell, Ida., J. W.
Beuers, of Boise, educational secre
tary of the district, and Rev. and Mrs.
Jackson. After the baptismal serv
ice Sunday, school was. held and af
ter that dinner was eaten ln tne grove
at ono long table.
The ball game between La Grande
and Cove played at Cove Sunday,
