Thoee.wbo heard tbe orchestra at
the Central Church of Christ last
Sunday evening were delighted with
,the line musical talent displayed.
Several new members have been add
ed to the group recently and Rev.
Paul de F. Mortimore states that he
believes it is one of the finest con
cert orchestras in this part of the
state. Some of La Grande's most
talented musicians are playing In
the ensemble, which now numbers
18 members. This coming Sunday
evening they will play an especially
attractive . concert, including - the
numbers: "Dance pf tbe Sunflowers"
by Pauline Story, the Hungarian
Melody, "Keler Bela" transcription by
Suter, and a Grand Religious Fan
tasia composed of a number of fa
miliar hymns taken from the "Moody
and Sankey Gospel Hymns." The or
chestra also plays for the song serv
ice, which Is greatly enjoyed by all
who attend. Anyone who enjoys
muslo will find it worth his while
to attend the service at the Church
of Christ Sunday evening at 7:30.
The pastor will preach an evange
listic sermon at this hour.
In spite of cold weather, the Bible
school is maintaining a high aver
age attendance this month. Every
effort Is being made to hold the at
tendance above the 200 mark. To
these not now attending any Bible
school, the Church of Christ gives
an urgent Invitation to find your
class In their school. Competent
teachers ore in charge of each class
and the best of materials are used.
Honoring George Washington on
the occasion of his 300th anniversary,
the pastor will speak Sunday morn
ing on the topic, "Washington's
Sacrifice for a Righteous Cause." Re
garding this topic, Mr. Mortimore
says, "It has become unpopular In
this country to make any sacrifice.

At the 7 o'clock evening service,
Lenn Plerson will have charge of the
opening worship service and the
young folks' choir will sing an an-
them. Following this brief service,
the Epworth league will ' be led In
discussion of "Peace and Patriotism,"
by Miss Lois Nelson.

Fears may be classified as either
objective or subjective;
The objective fear centers about
some objective outsldo of the Indivi
dual. ,
Tho subjective fear is resident
within as a vague and ill-defined
condition.
One might fear horses, cows, mioo,
lightning, or a child may fear a, po
liceman. Such aro common objective
fears.
On the other hand, one might have
the vague fear of failure, or of disas
ter, of crowds, or of open spaces.
These fears aro primarily of a subjec
tive nature.
It Is this latter group of fears that
Is most discomforting, for objects
that aro feared usually may be avoid
ed whereaa tho subjective fear Is com
monly ever present,
Experience has taught us that ob
Jectlvo fears are In most cases the
result of experience, at first hand or
through suggestion.
If a playful dog should rush at
ohlld, barking loudly and perhaps
throwing It down, the experience
might bo sufficiently startling to
create in the child a fear of dogs.
On tho other hand, the child may
havo had no actual experience with
the animal, but an over-cautious par
ent may havo cringed and drawn tho
ohlld aside every time a dog was en
countered and a fear of the animal
was thus engendered by suggestion.

unbridled Imagination, of Inadequate
understanding, and of a combination

Bake luliable shaped, medium potatoes until done
In a hot oven of 40O F. (45 to 60 minutes). When
done, cut potatoes In two, lenglhWise, or If small,

just enouflh to form shell. Over a heated turUce,
mash potato, ieasonlns with milk, butler, salt and
pepp'N and beattlll Huffy. Add i much crab meat
as mashed potato, folding It carefully together. Pile
this mUture Into the potato shell, to that It will
remain rough in appearance, iprinltle with paprika,
and re-heat In oven, allowing the mixture to brown.
Serve with sprigs of parsley and piece of lemon
at either a luncheon or (upper dish. I he same

flaked, cooked fish or light meat.
