In Oregon Mart
j PORTLAND. Jan. 8 t Weainess
continues to dominate the market for
dairy product with butter Inclined
to drag wearily although there were
no general changes In the price list
today. On the open market occasion
al price shading is reflected in an
effort to force sales but some busi
ness is being done at full figures.
However the general structure is de
pressed. Make of butter continues to reflect
more than seasonable volume In prac
tically all parts of the country. A
condition which creates more or less
weakness in the entire domestic trade.
With foreign butter being freely of
fered along the Atlantic coast and
more in sight If that could be moved.
The home offerings naturally are
made to feel this competition.
There remains a weak tone for but
terfat. Utter demoralization of the current
egg market locally Is being forced by
so-called independent producers
those not marketing their product
through regular market channels, the
Journal said today. ,
Sales of extras by these Indepen
dents as low as 17 18 cents dozen
to retailers have created very adverse
trade conditions, the paper said.
Trade in the live chicken market
is considered about steady. The re
cent cut of lc in bids appears to have
aided the market somewhat and the
movement Is better.
At the monent there Is scarcely
sufficient dressed turkey demand to
establish prices here. Nominal top of
25c lb. is shown out practically all
of the leading receivers have their
storage rooms full.
EAST SIDE MARKET '
PORTLAND, Jan. 8 UP) Demand
in general was better on the east side
farmers' wholesale market) today. Of
ferings were more liberal.
Cauliflower sold again at a spread
of 50c to 90c according to quality.
Cabbage demand was good with $1
paid for( selected stuff.
Green broccoli was active at 65c
lug.
Brussel sprouts were firmer at 91
top generally; a few a dime higher.
Celery hearts were active up to
$1.50 doz. bunches.
Apples sold around 5560c for face
and fill stuff. Others mostly 50c box.
Carrots of top quality sold up to
30c doz. bunches but the bulk of
sales were 25c. Beets similar.
Potatoes moved 90c for the best
available.
WOOL REPORT
BOSTON, Jan. 8 VP) The Com
mercial Bulletin will say tomorrow:
"There has been a moderate de
mand for wool, which has Implied
rather more interest on the part of
the mills. Mostly, the call has been
for fine and half-blood combing
wools, but there Is some request for
woolen descriptions, -also, and the
market is generally steady. t
"Sales resumed in Australia at
about the same level of prices pre
vailing prior to the holidays. South
Africa now is on a competing level
with Australia. Bradford and the
continental markets are firmer.
"Reports from the goods market In
dicate a fairly early resumption in
business, especially in view of the
fact Easter is early this year. Con
sumption has fallen off in the last
three or four months, but In 1931
was fully 30 per cent greater than
in the previous year.
"Mohair continues slow with little
Interest except -In sampling for wool
en purposes."

lowing quotations:

QUALITY FLOWERS
For all occasions, artistically ar

Few people realize what a serious
disease catarrh really is. Deafness
and head noises that drive the suf
ferer nearly frantic are frequently
due to this complaint. Unchecked,
this disgusting, dangerous ailment
often destroys smell, taste and hear
ing, slowly undermines the general
health. Its neglect may make you
a wornout catarrhal wreck, y
Aa catarrh is a disease of the
blood, the only real relief comes
from treating the blood itself. So
go to Red Cross Drug store, or your
druggist foe an ounce of Parmint
(Double Strength). Take this home
and add to It Vi pint of hot water
and a little sugar. Take a stnbie
spoonful four times a day. Drive the
catarrhal poisons from the system
by treating the blood, and the dis
ease itself must vanish. Parmint
has proved successful in so many
cases because it acts directly on the
blood and mucous membrane.
Life will be much more worth liv
ing If you can breathe freely again,
hear plainly. t smell, taste, and arise
In the morning refreshed and strong,
with head and throat free from
phlegm. For your own sake, give
Parmint a trial and with your
whole system crying for relief from
catarrh you should start Parmint
treatment now. Adv
