yesterday afternoon when she enter
tained the Ponoy club at 2 o'clock.
Eight members were present and
bridge was played during the after
noon with . Mrs. Walter Palmer re
ceiving first, and Mrs. B. V. Copsey,
second.
The bridge table appointments and
favors carried out an old-fashioned
motif. A two-course luncheon was
served late In the afternoon by tho
hostess. r .

gold room of the hotel. A dutch

Aid In Session
The Ladles Aid of the Lutheran
church was hostess -yesterday after
noon at a silver. -tea at the home of
Mrs. Nels Nelson. The hours were
from a until S o'clock.
The serving table' was ' decorated
with delicate yellow tea roses and yel
low ins arranged In a centerpiece and
tall, lighted yellow tapers. Yellow
roses and Iris were also used about
the rooms. Presiding at the tea table
and coffee urn were Mrs. Art Weagel
and Mrs. Ambrose Wright. Assisting
about the rooms wero Miss Oenevlevo
Nelson, Mrs. James Schilling and Mrs.
Nelson.
A miscellaneous program was pre
sented during the afternoon with
piano solos by Juanlta Stltzlnger,
Helen Jensen and Mildred Stoddard.
Mrs. Ernest Stoyka read a group of
poems, and Betty Stein gave a recita
tion. -
On June 11 the Aid will meet with
Mrs. Fred Matthes, 2712 North Ash

Informal Party
At Barclay Home
A charming informal afternoon, was
enjoyed yesterday afternoon when
Mrs. William Barclay entertained the
Mary Elizabeth club at her home, at
2 o'clock. Gaines and conversation
filled the afternoon, at the close of
which Mrs. Barclay served light re
freshments. Mrs. L. M. Hoyfc and Mrs. John Mul
ligan, of Huntington, were guesta of
the club for the afternoon. Mrs, F. 8,
Nye and Mrs. Harry Turner, members
of the organization, were absent.
Mrs. Turner will entertain the club
at its next meeting, the date to be
announced later.
41 Attend Picnic
At- Riverside Park
About 41 attended the picnic and
annual business meeting of the Homo
department of the Presbyterian
church yesterday at 13 o'clock at
Riverside park. The meeting was the
last until September.
I A picnic lunch was served at noon,
after which the business meeting was
held. Miss Hulda Anderson led the
devotions, and Rev. J. Georgo Walz
gave a short talk. Both used naturo
as their topic.
