We are happy to announce that Monday, September 1
, the Arcade and Granada Theaters
! : will become units of
INLAND THEATERS, INC.
IThis means that the La Grande theaters will be
members of the finest independent theater chain in
the west. This chain is operated by Frederick Mercy
S?5,who has been in the theater business in the North-
: west, for twenty-five years and his son, Frederick
Mercy Jr., who has grown up in the industry. It means
that the La Grande theaters will be operated under
a policy which has placed Mercy theaters in a class by
.themselves; this policy, to state it brief ly; is to offer
our patrons the finest talking pictures available in :
the most corhf ortable and ideal surroundings possible.
Louring the next few days many changes will be
made in the two houses. Redecoration will be exten
sive. Comfortable loge seats will be installed. Addi
tions to the equipment will be made which will make
a distinct improvement in the quality of the sound
am of the projection of our pictures. Wherever a
Mercy theater is to be found you will find a theater
equal in quality to any in the entire United States. It
is "our intention that the same will be true of our La
Grande Theaters. In making, these changes it is Our
indention never to lose, sight of the fact that patrons
who pay for entertainment in our theaters are entitled
; to; the best entertainment we can offer and to all the ,
.efforts we are able to provide.
A 'date, for a reopening under this new policy will
be announced soon. Watch for .it. '. V
