conference of the ministers of the
Methodist Episcopal church will be
held at Weiaer this year beginning
August 20. This Is the clohc of the
church year. The Rev. and Mrs. N. E.
Hershey will attend the conference.
A strange coincidence ww reported
by Mrs. Nellie Martin who received
word from her son Lawrence aayinj
that he and his wife were taking a
trip to the Yellowstone park. He gave
her the date of his departure wnich
was the same day that Miss I-la
Martin, his sister, with Mihs Ruth
Brown and Mlsn MrKinney left La
Grande for the same destination.
Neither knew of the intention of the
other.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Vlckent of Crane,
Oregon, were overnight visitors at
Camp Yrw-Bow Saturday. Mr. and
Mrs, W. J. Hallmark and family also
spent the night at Yew-Bow. and
among those who called at the camp
Sunday were Miss Kate Houx of La
Grande and her mother. Mrs. A. E.
Houx. Mrs. Alice Trlppeer. and Wil
liam Mitchell.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Light of Tan
gent, Oregon spent Sunday at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Pleicher.
Mr. and Mrs. Light were returning
from a visit to Camas county in Ida
ho which was the former home of
Mrs. Light and also of the Fletchers.
Mlfta Thclma Anderson, who has
been away for some time, returned to
her home Saturday. While away Miss
Andersou viMted with her cousins,
the Misnes Ellda and Bet rune Miller,
who are In school in Seattle. While
there Miss Anderson attended th&
Passion plwy. She was taken 111 on
her way home, but ts reported re
covering from what heems to have
been an attack of the summer fiu.
