Double Celebration

a most delightful event was cele
brated at the. new home of M r.
and Mrs. I-Yed Nlsser in La Grande
or rather a double event was
celebrated. In the first place mein-
' bers of Blue Mountain grange ban
a house-warning for Mr. and Mrs.
Nizer, dedicating their new home
with tile ritualistic ncrvlco of Ihei
order. The second event and ot
c(ual importance wus the celebra-,
Hon of Mr. and Mrs. Nizer's thirty
first .wedding anniversary. When
the company, which completely
filled every nook ana corner of tne
home, had assembled, the exercises
. proper" were' held. Members ot
Blue Mt. Tilled the respective of
fices in exemplifying the ritualistic
service, tlie second time it has ever
been put on in ' Kastern Oregon,
and I'nton county members feel
the first lime, in Oregon. JOd Kv-U-ley
served us master and bad ex
cellent support from his fellow of
ficers. This service is very impres-,
sive and is most fitting and proper.
At, its completion, Mr. and Mrs.
Nizcr donned their wedding clothes
of 31. years ago and another cere
mony was performed with Kd Kck-
. ley acting- as the clergyman, und
the other parts being well taken.
A program of readings and music,
presided over by Mrs. J. A. JIol
nian, included two violin soloes by
Miss Anita Hermann, talk by Wal
ter M. I'ierce, and also greetings by
J. A. Nice, master of tho l'omona
grunge, rending, Airs, v reu Mini
mal!, reading. Mrs. Tom Wallslnger.
There was visiting and story tell
ing, while the women of the grango
prepared the lunch which was serv
ed very late in the evening. Mr.
and Mrs. Nizcr received a great
many gifts from their individual
friends. -and also a gift of silver
from the brothers and sisters of
"Blue Mt. The new home which-wus
dedicated last evening is a very
commodious and modern structure,
replacing the bouse which was
burned about a year or more ago.
The building 1ms been erected by
Mr. Nizer himself, who was also
its iirchitect. we are told. H was
a very happy occasion. Mr. and
Mrs. Nizor have the best wishes
and congratulations of all their
friends.
