School has been resumed at tho
Dry Crock school, the teacher, Miss
Margaret Hall having returned
from her two weeks trip to Astoria
and other points in western Ore
gon. Dry Creek is one of the larg
est, if not tho largest one room
school jn the county, 23 pupils be
ing now enrolled and three new
pupils having recently moved into
tho neighborhood. During the
Christmas recess, the school build
ing underwent a course of improve
ments, a new floor having been
laid, new wall board put on the
walls, and other minor improve
ments made, which will make the
school more comforlablo during
tho winter months.

ited last week at tho home of their
daughter and ulster. Mrs. Charles
Sanderson near Sanderson Springs
and also at the home of another
daughter, Mrs. Ira Lunman west,

ceived word to the effect that Jim
Andrews of Imbler, who Is spend
ing the winter at the homo of rela
tives in Portland, suffered a stroke
recontly and his condition Is re
garded as being quite serious. Mr.
Andrews Is the father of Haskell
Andrews of La Grande, and Mrs,
Cap Tuttle of Imbler.
