A Message from the Man Who
Made "STARK LOVE" to the
Theatregoers of La Grande
Paramount Studios,
Hollywood, Cal.
Mr. and Mi's. Moviegoer:
I want to tell you somethinpr about my picture,
"STARK LOVE," which which will be shown at the Ar
cade Theatre on Sunday.
"STARK LOVE" is a lrvinjr drama' of the primitive
mountaineers of North Carolina. : The story, which is
of a father who takes possession of his son's sweet
heart, is presented with a vividness never liefore seen
on the screen.
There is an excellent reason for this. "STAUK
LOVE" is lived, not acted. The mountaineers them
selves play the parts and with a literal realism far be
yond the culpabilities of any professional actors.
Thus, "STARK LOVE'! is the first example of al
solutc realism to reach the screen, and as such estab
lishes itself as the pioneer of a. new class of motion
picture. It is so new in every way that we are obliged
to regard it as a most important experiment, and one
likely to exert a great influence on pictures of the
future.
1 should like very much to have you write me any
criticisms or suggestions of "STARK LOVE," as these
will play a large part in the shaping of future produc
tions of this school. . . a 11
Faithfully yours.
