There arc five active geyser ba-.
sins In the park. These differ In
character and action. Some, like
Ulil Faithful, are fairly regular In
action.

There are about 200 - miles of
motor highways in the park boun
daries which touch -principal at
tractions. A system of trails is
being developed for tourists who
wurn to tide horseback or hike
through the park. -
Tho tourist season continues un
til September IS. After this date
I admittance Is granted only to thoao
I tourists who come equipped , to
camp out along the roads or trulls.

Nearly 18,000 Miles of
Highway Were Re
dressed During the
Past Twelve Months.
Nearly 18, 000 miles of road In
the several state highway systems
was surfaced In 1U2!. according to
reports received by tho bureau of
public roads of tho United Mutes
department of agriculture from tho
state highway departments. In
addition, 5318 miles of earth road
was graded and drained according
to engineering standards, making
a total of 23.152 mitlea Improved
during the year, of which a ilttle
more than 10,000 miles was con
structed with federal aid.
At the end of the year the total
surface mileage in the state sys
tems had reached 14R.50K mllcH.
and there were 32.218 miles of
earth road, graded and drained ac
cording to engineering standards.
Tho total of 270.654 miles Includ
ed In the statu systems embrace
the important roads of the coun
try which have ben laid out. to
servo tho needs of the stales. It is
upon these systems that tho im
portant through routes of tho fed
eral aid system and the United
States highways havo been ultnost
entirely laid down.

12.677 miles, gravel 64.408 mile,
waterbound macadam 4K04 miles,
surfaccd-treated macadam and
gravel 15,858 miles, bituminous

miscellaneous 131 miles.

The buses will operate on tho
same schedules and fares as did
the street curs. The threo buses
will each seat 29 passengers and
will stop at the near side of each
street Intersection. They will op
orato over tho sumo streets as the'
Boise Hlrect Car Company's cars,
better known as tho "green cars."
The route Is from the Nutatorl
um west on Main street to Thir
teenth, north on Thirteenth to the
northwest part of town. ,No other
lino is a flouted by the change from
cars to buses.
As soon as the change Is made

equipment will be demantled and
