unusually hot summer. Owing to
winter freeze out of all wheat in
Sherman. Gilliam, Morrow and
Wasco counties, spring grain had

wheat, and the result was disas
trous. The crop In Gilliam coun
ty will average about 9 bushels
of wheat and 15 bushels of barley
to the acre.

Apples will be larger than usual
this year, but the lightest crop ever

Fake County. Fukevlrw: Hot dry

Lane County. Creswell: A very
wet spring and a dry summer made
the growing and harvesting con
ditions extremely favorable. The
lute fronts and cold rains during
blossom time damaged all fruit to
a greater or lesser degree.
Finn County. Albicny: Hot sun (
has Injured the spring Oats crop t
badly. Corn is nol'iip to the usual
condition. It hiw been extremely
hot In this section during the month '
of July for the Willamette valley

spring wheat, oats, and . pasture

somewhat damaged by the dry hot
days of the past month. Prob
ably so per cent yjeld.
