The Grande Uonde Valley mills
are ready. lUtie Mountain Yellow
Pine is of a quality to compare fa
vorably with any lumber produced
in the northwest. Kor hop lum
ber it cannot he excelled. Almost
free from knots, with straight
grain and fine texture for a soft
wood il is easily ami satisfactorily
worked. The fir and larch lum
ber produced in this territory Is
comparable .only to the famous
Co;'st Kir. It makes an excellent
floor and is adaptable in most fin
ish work. Hlue Mountain fir and
larch also makes excellent large
limber sue)) as ties and it is in
thi.s vaii' ty of lumber that the
Kustcrn Oregon mills are most
able to compete with any of the
other plants along the roast.
