morning during a walk about

She had Just turned into a pri
vate driveway when four mem
bers of the state constabulary on
motorcycles turned Into the lane
behind her, driving ut a fast
clip, according to witnesses.

vas rocked ngaln by a heavy earth
quake at 8:38 o'clock this morn
ing. The quake lasted alx seconds
and shook the city rather violent
ly. The vibrations consisted of two
shocks and appeared to be from
east to west. They swayed build
ings perhaps more nevnrely than
any of the shocks following tho -major
disturbances last Monday.
So far no damage Is reported.
Occupants of the buildings rushed
into the open and several girl em
ployes became hysterical.
1 he vibrations loosened a few
bricks and widened cracks in aoine
shattered walls. There were a few
chimneys toppled to tho ground.
Another shock occurred at 10:21,
less vie lent than the earlier one.

more prolonged tremor was felt
ut ,10:41 and a mora prolonged
tremor shook the city at 10:44.
There were wild rumora concern
ing damage caused by today's
quake hut they proved to be with
out foundation.
