30 YEARS, DEAD
Walter K. Pratt, a resident of
Union county for thirty years, died
here yesterday at the home of his
daughter, .Mrs. O. K. Howell, at
the end of an extended illness.
Mr. 1'ratt leaves a widow, one
daughter, one sister. Nora Halls,
of Paradise. Ore., and two broth
ers, Oscar and Charles of Colville,
Wash.
Funeral services will be held
this afternoon al H o'clock at the
Summerville chapel with 'he W

Is Severely Scalded
Cecil Gilmorc. the four year old
son of Mr. and Mrs. t'hauncey (ill
m nre. was severely burned Saturday
when he fell into a boiler of hot
water. The mother was busy clean
ing house and the little boy was
playing about the room, when he
I ell into the water buck wards,
scalding his back, both legs and
one arm badly.
This morning his condition was
not Improved and he was taken to
the hospital.
