Ono woman was killed, a man
probably fatally injured and two
little gtrls badly bruised when the
horses of tho Halfway-Cornucopia
stage ran away at a point about
40 miles northeast of Baker, Ore.
The horses became, frightened
and broke the double treo pins of
tho rig. dashing about on the nar
row road; and broke away. Bruco
Cameron, tho driver was hurled
beneath the wheels ot the stage,
which passed over his body.
Mrs. Clara Carnahan, postmis
tress at Carson, was thrown upon
tho brako rod, which penetrated
her side. She was dragged (or a
considerable distance, and died
shortly afterward.
