Next Saturday arternoon the bar of Union county will

Here, as everyone will admit, is English composition
which addresses itself to a large reading public. Except
ing the proper nouns, every word of it is in good standinr
id the dictionary, and still to one not versed in the jargon
of baseball the paragraph is altogether unintelligible. Put
what is still more baffling than its unintolligihility is the
fact that to those skilled in the vernacular of baseball the
very strangeness of the language is intended lo add a chnrm
to the message conveyed. Verily, the king's English may
