ation of Women's clubs Iihs added

clubs, raising the list of uuuiuor
clubs from 2,000 to about 6,000
and the number of affiliated club
women to more than 1,000. 000, the
president. Mrs. Thomas U. Winter,
of Minneapolis, reported at the
opening business session of the federation's-
seventeenth biennial con
ventlon here today.
Besides the addition In member, j
ships and affiliations, some of the
outstanding accomplishments of Ihe
lust four years, since the federation
met In Des Moines, la., were out
lined by Mrs. Winter as follows:
"The purchase and equipping of
headquarters In Washington.
"The movement toward universal
membership, made actual In 14
state.
"Junior membership organization
and club Institutes.
"The closer relation of state offt
rs' lo each other and to the Gen
eral Federation."
"Kvery year, with our growth In
numbers." added the president.
"with our awakening and greater
civic consciousness,, the. demands
upon us grow. Possibilities loom
upon us suddenly for great accom
plishments, and If wo hesitate br
turn away, they seek other agencies
and warmer hearts."
