Memorial Day
Fifty-nine years ago the soldiers of the North and
the soldiers of the South laid down their arms. It
meant peace once more no slavery the right to vote
extended to every one. But not without bloodshed.
Thousands of men sacrificed their lives for the pres
ervation of the nation's ideals. Since that time,
America has grown by leaps and bounds. Our coun
try has prospered and progressed beyond all dreams.
Today, five years after the great World War, the
future looks even more bright than it ever has Wore.
Rut in our visions In our own -selfish .pursuits,',
let us pause for a day to consider our fallen heroes, ;
to pay them homage. May 30th has. Iron.' dedicated
