gymnasium packed with about a
thousand people present to enjoy
the unnual class night exercises,,
the seniors put on their usual ex
ercises, ending with a 'southern
comedy entitled "The Thread of
Ilewtlny." The cast Included IS
members of the graduating cluss
and was well rendered, being con
sidered ubout the best of tho year.
The freshman play has been post
poned until next school years.

day for the ball game between La

Union Ktock show, under the lead
ership of l'Yank Conner, has been
touring the valley and other places

A very creditable showing "was
mode by the Union applicants on
the state examinations. Over 40
In the eighth grade wrote on the
questions and every ono made a
passing grade, with quite a sprink
ling of hundreds among the grades.
All of the sixth graders earned
above seventy In the hygiene test
and all except one 0f the seventh
passed In geography. " This puts
Union among the first schools In
the county In point of tho percent
age of the students who passed

gard to tho standing In grades.
School closed Friday of last
week and some of the teachers
have gone elsewhere for their va
cation, but most af those who will
be here Tor another 'year will re
main In Union during lhe summer.!
At the commencement. Thursday
evening high school diplomas were
handed out to 39 students, the
largest class graduating In 'he Ills,
