seeking the county's beauty spot were

The reason wua not far to seek, for
l.a Grande, Oregon, which has sent
so ninny sons and daughters' to Stntu
Anna, and Orange county, was being
honored with a picnic. Gathered
around the long tables under the
sycamore trees, the former La Grande
folk enjoyed a glorious feast at mid
day, with the oNiii tests of all picnic
baskets added to the amazingly var
ied menu.
Iloating, dancing, tennis and all the
park am use men ts offered entertain
ment during the afternoon while the
children frolicked in'iheir own play
ground with its swings, chutes, merry-I'o-ronnd
and games.
