Sixty thousand eastern brook and
rainbow trout fry are being liberat
ed in the Anthony, Grande Ronde
and Van Patten lakes through the
efforts of forester A. G. Angell, of
North Powder, and John Fisher, of
Haines. Beginning Sunday the truck
from the fish hatchery at Union is
bringing 20,000 fry to the end of
the Nurth Powder lakes road where
they are loaded upon ten pack horses
and taken to their destination. The
planting of fish will bo welcomed
by fly casters of Eastern Oregon
as the lakes are becoming more of
a summer resort annually, but so far
this year few good catches have
been reported by visitors to the
