Ai'tists Tomorrow When
They Invade La Grande.
When the' Colts come galloping to
La Grande tomorrow with blootl in
their eye and determination written
over their physiognomies in bold face,
they will be met with a reception
committee of heavy stickers, who
promise to more than make up for
the lack of effectiveness thos bats
found against lEaker the last time
the Pirates and Colts clashed. Tie
last game between Baker and La
Grande was one of the, best exhi
bitions of baseball ever witnessed in
Eastern Oregcji and if both teams
only play one half as good this Sun
day, it will be a gamrj welt worth
every man's time to attend.
Hoth teams are going into the
game with a lot at stake. If either
loses the pennant fades and in addi
tion. the Pirates are out for revenge.
The Colts kicked them in the face
not long ago with a fleck of guose
eggs and the Pirates have their cut
lasses and black flag out ready to do
battle. '
The game will be played at
the fair-grounds and will Ntart at
approximately 2:110 o'clock in the
al'ternuon. 'All children under 12 .
years will nut be charged admit-'
tance.

NEW YORK, July 7. If golf
interferes with business drop
business, is the advice given by
Dr. F. P. Millard of Toronto,
Canada, at the annual conven
tion of the American Osteopathic
association.
"Dropping business now and
then is a good way te- make the
business grow and to have some
fun with it besides,'" Doctor
Millard said in an address.
"Golf is a thoroughly osteopathic
game, and no one getting on to
ward middle age, with a ten
dency to stiffness of the spine cr
creakiness of the joints, can fail
to benefit by it. Take the
swing of the clubs. Consider
how it limbers up the spine. As
for the effect on the wrist, it's
marvelous.
"The golfer' draws upon 0
different set of muscles than the
tennis player. The UOO-yard
drive of the golfer can only be
made when the wrist moticu is
perfect. The wrists of the pro
fessional golfers are taken care
of daily, and special exercises
are prescribed which would bene
fit any golfer, for the wrists
tend to stiffen between games
and should always be limucred
up before starting a game."

Clifford swats a mean ball and
should add considerable strength to
