represents the gift of all the klans
! in the state and it is said that the
j funds are at hand and will be ready
fop delivery to the W, C. T. U in
the iniediate future,

ton and Idaho, attended the session.
Fred A. Gifford, grand dragon of jj

the western division, addressed the
'convention, discussing the national J

i D. C. Mr. Gifford was re-elected
grand dragen for Oregon. He ex
jpects to leave soon for the Atlantic
coast on business for the klan.; Of

different ' parts of the state ' were

Following the open ' session ' and
election, a business session was held
i which included the outlining of de
tailed plans fcr the conduct of the
klan in Oregon and for the reorgani
ation of the women's auxiliary, the
Ladies of the Ku Klux Klan, in line
with agreements reached by the na
tional convention.
The Ku Klux Klan will not spon
sor nny movement to recall Gover
nor Pierce, Mr. Gifford announced
to the convention Monday night. The
action in effect was the grand dra
gon's formal refusal to sanction the
plans of some members of the klan,
taken during his absence, to put the
recall machinery into motion.
The klan, 'Mr. Giffc.nl told the
delegates from all parts of the state,
will not undertake a recall until
some "overt act" should be perform
ed by the state executive which
patiently justify p.uch action. He in- j

be 'satisfied with the patronage
awards made by the governor and
not agree with the wisdom of- the
executive appointments, he did: not
believe that the recall plans -weiy
warranted. I
