The president of the United States is coming and Eastern Ore
gon people are preparing to receive him. Business nun of La
Grande have deserted their business houses and many spend most
of their time on To) 0' lllue Mountains in preparing to welcome
this honored guest. The whole community is looking- forward to
the occasion with great delight, for Kastei n Oregon cannot hope to
have a president here once in a lifetime, scarcely.
Top O' lllue Mountains will live in history because of this cele
bration. The old Oiegon Trail pageant will be a historical fact
and its impression will be left with the nation, as it should be.
This is a great year for the northwest and the third day of
July will be the eventful day.
