the homes before the guests dejiart
eil. Those who enjoyed the after
noon were Mrs. Jack Brent, Mrs.
Walter Jones, Mrs. W. A. Wallace,
Mrs. Jack McCarthy, Mrs. W. A.
Moss, Mrs. Earl Kline, Mrs. Art
Jones, Mrs. K. Noah
On the evening of February the
sixteenth the Epworth League of the
Island City church entertained the
community with a Valentine Party.
The church was decorated in the
usual valentine colore, and many
were the delightful games played
during the course of the evening.
About sixty guests were present and
the spirit of Saint Valentine was
felt by both young and old.
At the close of the festivity re
freshments were served and the Lea
gue party was voted a splendid suc
cess, The ladies of the W. R. C at
their noon' luncheon February 17,
had a program in honor of 'Wash
ington and Lincoln's birthdays which

marks presented Kremnn Ladd with
a gift from the corps in honor of
his eighty-second birthday anniver
sary. The last of a series of twelve
dancing lessons under the direction
of P. .7. rowers,. . jv,c, esifully
closed Monday nir ht when the
members of the dancing class invited
their friends to the Country club anil
a most enjoyable evening was .pent
in dancing alter which refreshments
were served.
The Indies Society of the B. of
L. K. & K. and their families enjoy
ed a very pleasant evening Satur
day, February 17th.
After the regular, lodge meeting,
the evening was spent in games and
dancing. During the evening re
freshments were served under the
direction of a committee composed
of Mesdamcs IJovd, Hickford, Clar
ence Potter, Triendly Barnes, Llovi
Amos, Howard Uates, Dep Ashley,
T. It. Allison and Dora Caton.
The American Legion Auxiliary
will meet at the home of L. V.
Chaussee, 1801 Adams avenue, at k
o'clock this evening.
Mrs. A. V. Andrews and Mrs. W.
W. Kerry will entertain the Kaf
fee Klatch Friday afternoon at the
home of Mrs. Andrews.

their friends.
The Valentine spirit prevailed in
the spacious rooms where hundreds
of blight red hearts mingled with
cupids and lights cast a warm red
glow, malting the guests quite for
getful of the frost, and snow witu-

tractive. A large basket ot red car
nations formed- the centerpiece of the
table, and burning candles at each
end further added to the cheerful
ness of the rooms.
