largest single consignment or elec
tric apparatus for railroad electri
fication ever made in this country
started from Pittsburgh recently
when the Westlnghouse Elettflc In
ternational company despatched the
"International Trade Special," on Its
way to the. coast.
The special, mode up of 33 cars,
carried equipment for the electrifica
tion of the fjtate railroads of Chile.
It was the second such shipment,
the first having ibeen made several
weeks ago. A third will follow
shortly. The contract with Chile
involves $7,000,000 and Includes 39
locomotives. The consignment now
on Its way to South America is
valued at $750,000.
