Down in Portland Mrs. 1'Y Swanlon, head of the
Oregon Humane society, is rendering service without
noise, and it is quite refreshing to witness a person so hon
orably engaged. ;
Mrs". Swaiitun loves every living Creature and she will

The public hears little of Mrs. Swanton and Mr.
Churchill but they arc on the job all of the time and their
work is so needful. Portland people will learn one of these
