liU8 accident occurred Wetluesduy,
iwhen Murrel Futrifet, aged 13, on of
f.Mr. und Mr Cap Fugget, was shot
in the left upper leg, the bullet pass-
ling in a downward courao through the
left leg anil tnrsugn tne lower Ngni
li-g. Murrel was on the Burnett furm
at the time of the accident, in com
pany with John and Dart Curren, boys
about the name age n Murrel.- The
boys had borrowed a pistol of the
Stephens type .22 calibre and were
silting on a log in a line when the
pistol was accidentally discharged,
the bullet hitting Fugget.
The accident occurred laie in the
afternoon, and the boys walked home,
arriving at G:IWi. When tbe rupget
boy arrived home he did not mention
the accident to his parents, and it
was not until the Curren boys hud
spread the news that tiiB mother learn
ed of the accident, when Murrel told
his mother that one of the boys ac
Icidentally shot him.
Mr. Fugget brought his son to J.a
I Grande on the evening train, where
it was dressed by the doctor, who re
ports that the case will not be serious,
unless complications set in.
The gun was in bad order, failing

boys are familiar with fire arms, ami
were not expecting the gun to be dis
charged when the accident happened.
