With a popular demand extant for
playgrounds facilities for children of
La Grande to utilise during the sum
mer months, the decision of the Ad
ciub athletic committee to give all net
proceeds from the Suntel-De Court
wrestling: match to that fund, meet!
with general approval. Three of the
leading civic and educational bodies oC
the city have asked for the facilities
and it is hoped that this match will
turn a goodly sum over to that project.
The match, which tnkes place at the
Arcade theatre May (ith prompts Mr.
Emahiscr, chairman of the committer
in charge, to say:
"This promises to be the best exhi
bition of the mat game that has been
put on in La Grande. Both men arc
aggressive, very skillful and fast. De
Court is the heavier man and rugged,
probably the stronger of the two. San
tels long experience and wonderful
wrestling ability will no doubt offset
the difference in weight. Their recent
contest at Boise, recognized by sport
writers as the fastest Idaho has even
seen, is evidence of the class that thr
match here will be."
