BRUSSELS, March 7. The corpo
ration of the city of Brussels has de
cided to propose to the city council
that it offer Egmont palace, formerly
the Ehrenburg palace, as the seat of
the league of nations.
The Egmont palace is w.thin a few
blocks of the royal palace. It was
erected in 1548, restored in 1763, and
again restored after a fire in 1892.
Count Egmont, who was executed by
the Spaniards in 15C8 in Brussels, was
a famous general.
