, A Great Array of Battle
Ships.
There must have been a strong ar
ray of battleships when four hundred
of the allies' vessels met the surren
dering Germnn fleet, While not much
. of the fleet was American there were
several drcadsaughts flying the Stars
and) Stripes, The vessels composing
tlie "reception committee" are report
ed in the news dispatches to, have been
the biggest fleet ever nssomblcd. And
those are but a minor (art of the
ships that have in the past, been on
the lookout for the undersea craft of
the enemy, which was depended upon
to starve England and bring success
to the Germnn cause.
The German nnvy proper, never
dared, after a slight brush with the
tyjrttisb, early in the war, to como out
In the opoii; but were kept closely
hnrbored behind the Kiel cannL The
entire reliance was placed, on the sub
marines and now all theso are to be
given up, and In fact many have al
ready been surrendered and all will be
put out of commission.
Of all the mistakes made by the
mUltnry oligarchy of Germany, none
were mora fatal in the outcome than
tho supposed superiority of their
fighting machinery. They had led
themselves to believe thnt German sol
diers and German weapons were In
vincible, and the disillusionment
should bo clear enough to them now.
One of tho evidences is that string of
sea fighters thut met the vanquished
fleet off the Scottish coast at 9 o'clock
this morning.
Railroad Men Do Good,
. But Say Little. .
, Railroad employes In late years
have acquired a different attitude to
ward..' mutters of general interest.
They are automatically bunded to
gether not only for Bervico to the
transportation lines, . which always
comes first, but they have a fraternal
feeling; as well.
In this war they have been diligent
workers and free givers; they hnvc
never failed in tho bond issues, nor
have they stepped backward on the
war drives which were not Invest
ments. Rut aside from all these undertak
ings there now comes to notice an or
ganization of O.-W. employes who
contribute twenty-five cents cneh to
fund that Is used for emergency pur
poses. iWithout telling the world of
this, tho employes have gone ahead
doing good with tho money so raised.
and it is only by chance that the pub
lic learns of it. Not long ago they
paid for the burial of tho father of n
soldier boy, and that is but one in
stance of the numerous splendid
things they are doing.
Tho boys are to be commended for
this inside feeling which prompts them
to enact such service to humanity. The
fact that they are doing theso things
quietly und regularly stimulates the
faith in them nnd makes everyone ap
preciate the fact thnt the railroad
men are n very important part of
Union county and any other county
where their work calls them to reside.
Must Be Hundred Per

The question, is now being raised at
to whether or not Victor Berger, the
recently elected congressman from
Wisconsin, will be allowed to take a
seat, in the national house of repre
sentatives, Berger Is a Socialist, but
this i not the grounds for objection.

It's bead the Kaiser, said
' When tho war !s over I'll stand
no foolishness from America." He
hud determined to rule the whole
world. Together with his councill

last assuming the role of a super

His soldiers wero tnught that
when they obeyed Ills will and

machine they wore obeying the
VOICE AND WILL OF GOD AL
MIGHTY. Had the Kubcr succeeded ' tn
carrying his plans Tula effect lie
would have established a FIFTH
OKNTILlf WORLD tlMP'RE.
This would have changed the
truth of uod Into u lie!" For Odd
had revealed by tho iprophot Dan
iel, through NebucJvidue.zar's dream
that there should bo Just four gen
tile world kingdoms beginning
With Nebuchadnezzar's kingdom and
to tho coming of the Lord Jesus
Christ to earth to establish his
own everlasting kingdom.
Hut the Kaiser and his great
thinkers , forsook tho Infallible
Word of Ood and have made the
world familiar with GERMAN
HIGHER CRITICISM. He went to
war with tho world to establish a
llfth gentile, world power or king
dom,, when, God's word snys there
should be but lour.
Therefore he "left his proprtr
Estate", and even declared that ut
ter conqueriug Eiroie he would
coma over and "put America In her
place." When tho Kaiser went to
war with tho worhl he went to
wur with Almighty God. His army
Is defeated, his machine 'Is disinte
grated, his country lies prostrato at
tho feat of the Allies, and Ood'a

The Brent question now Is what
