, When Maud Spain, of Union, took
the blue ribbon at the stato fair on
her exhibit of market cunning ind
Ruiph Clark, of the La Gmnde High
School, secured a blue ribbon on po
tatoes they put Union county in tho
honor class by a big mtirgin. 'In the
first place it da a difficult matter for
any county to secure one first ribbon
and this county got away with two.
The young folks will also be rewarded
further and in a way that will be of
great benefit to them. They will be
given a two weeks course during the
summer in the Oregon Agricultural
College with all expenses of every
kind paid.
Hut these two were 'not alone in
upholding the reputation- of Union
county ut the state fair. Alex Day,
of La Grande got a prize on his poul
try project and Eunice Courthght, of
Union, got similar recognition on sow
ing. '
Booth Was Attractive
- Mrs. Ivanhoe, school superintend
ent, brings word that the Union coun
ty booth was a feature of special at
traction ut the fair. It was simply
crowded at all times. There was no
similar attraction on the grounds that
anywhere equalled that of this coun
ty. One of the reasons for this was
the exhibit of war curios which was
in charge of Mrs. C. N. l'ulmcr, pres
ident of the Army nnd Nuvty auxiliary,
and which were furnished almost ex
clusively by Union county boys who
are at the front in France.
"In every wy, I am more than
pleased with this county's part at the
stale, fair," says Mrs. Ivanhoe.

YOU'VE got it every human being is born '
vvith it your large intestine, or colon.'?! It is
a large tube a reservoir or sewer intended to '
collect waste matter and. remove it from the body.
Plug it up with waste, neglect it, and you're sick
on your feet. The Waste matter stagnates, under
goes decay, fermentation and germ action. Dan
gerous poisons are produced, that can easily be.
absorbed and carried all over the body.
Allow constipation to become established, and
you arc liable to become definitely and miserably
. sick and not on your feet either. You have
broken Nature's laws.
Better be kind to her. iCeep the danger zone
clean, with a regular bowel movement, and Nature ,
will thank you, and pay you back in gold coin
health, good nature, and a feeling of eagerness for
your daily task.
A large proportion of almost every form of
sickness is caused or made worse by the poisons,
produced as a result of constipation. r
