The recent rains washed out part
of the road Scott & Sailing had built
to the Grandy timber.
Everett Walker and wife came up
from La Grande Monday to spend
Maw Year with "Steve" Reauchamp.
Mrs. Jennie Holverson has gone to
Portland with her sister, Mrs. James
Porter. Mrs. Porter, formerly a resi
dent of Hilgard, but. Inter living in La
Grande, made the change to the Wil
lamette valley on account of her
health. Mrs. Holverson will stay a
week or tvo until her sister becomes
3cttled in her new home.
After a week's visit with her sister,
Mrs. C. N. Lewis, Miss Faye Millegan

where she will resume her work in
Whitman college.
Mrs. William Newton is reported as
seriously ill.
Lee Young and family have moved
to Ililirard from their ranch near

Mrs. J. W. Scott returned Tuesday
from a- week's visit with friends in
