PRISON PRISONERS DECREASE

SALEM, Ore, Nov. P. Slowly, but
surely, decreasing is the population
of one Oregon community the state
prison.
Only n couple of years ago in the
good old days, of many saloons the
inmates of the prison averaged about
500. In October official figures show
the prison population to be 341. Now
it is several less.
The following monthly figures show
how steudily tho prison's population
is shrinking: February, 47.1; March,
417; April, 411; May, KS; June, 381;
July, 373; August, 351; September,
345; October, 341.
