Forbidden Paths" is one of the not

story concerns Mildred Thornton, a

Japanese partner upon her father's
death
She is in love with Harry Maxwell,
who, unappreciative of his good for
tune, departs for Mexico where he
marries Benita Ramirez,' a notorious
Mexican woman of uncertain repute
When he discovers the woman's char
acter through the horrified Amencun
consul, he returns home and then
only commences to realize that he is
really in love with Mildred.
Matters are in a hopeless tangle
until Sato comes to the rescue of Mil
dred, with whom he also is in love
in a totally unexpected manner, which
is typically Japanese both in its in
genuity and in its devotion.

problem, see "Forbidden Paths" at

MARGUERITE CLARK COMING IN
ROARING FARCE
Commencing Monday the Arcade
theatre will present Marguerite Clark,
one of the screen's fairest daughters
in a roaring farce entitled "The
Amazons," for two days only. This
production was originally written by
Sir Arthur W. Pinero and the screen
version was arranged by the talented
Frances Marion who has been re
sponsible for so many of the Para
mount successes.
A typical Clark picture, "The
Amazons" presents the winsome little
star at her best in a subject of rapid
fire theme and hundreds of laughs.
Never before has Marguerite Clark
been given such an opportunity to
display her own inimitable humor and
various surprises are in store for
those who will visit the Arcade
theatre to see their favorite.
Joseph Kaufman the director of
various special pictures has turned
out one of the triumphs of his career
in this latest subject and advance re
ports that "The Amazons" will add
many new admirers to Marguerite
Clark's already long list. ?

COMING TO THE STAR THEATRE
Experience the Best Teacher.
It is generally admitted that experi
ence is the nest teacher, but should we
not make use of the experience of oth
ers as well as our own? The experi
ence of a thousand persons is more
to 1)0 depended uDon than that of one
individual. Many thousands of per
sons have used Chamberlain's Cough
Remedy for coughs and colds with the
best results, which shows it to be a
thoroughly reliable preparation for
those diseases. Try it. It is prompt
and effectual and pleasant to take.
He turns out to be a doddering ulJ
gentleman and not at all v. hat they
expected.
Those appearing in the sup.iort of
Miss Thomas are Chailes Gunn, Dor
cas Matthews, Jack Livingston, J.
Barney Sherry and others. The pro
duction was directed by Raymond W.
West.
