of all male residents between the
ages of 21 and 30 years, inclusive.

This applies to aliens as well as to

whether the alien is a Japanese, a
Chinese, an Italian, a' German or a
mam of any other nationality. He
must register, in common with all cit

Of course, aliens will not bo
drafted for the army. But the gov

One purpose of the war census is to
obtain accurate data as to the number
and employment of aliens of military
age now in the United States.
The government desires also to ob

citizen is best fitted to be of service
to his country, whether in civil or

Cold Spell Lowers Water.
The cold wave which struck this
section of the country Tuesday after
noon and Wednesday caused relief to
the farmers an the flooded area of the
valley, the water in Catherine Creek
falling almost two feet as a result.
This will at least give some of the
farmers a chance to strengthen their
levees and bridges before the water
raises much again.
