I Mrs. Eliza Cantrel, a pioneer and
f well-known citizen of Union county
.her home, April 1st, at the nee of 80
! years. Eliza Wilson was born in Cin
j cinatti, Ark., in 1837, and was married
to John Cantrel on June 20, 1852. To
this union eleven children was born
Severn of whom survive. The father
passed away 6 years ago at the age
of 80 years. Mr. and Mrs. Cantrel
cp.me to Oregon rn 1875. Surviving
their mother are three sons, Samuel
C. and W. M. Cantrel of Summerville
and T. J. Cantrel of Dixon, Mont., and
four daughters, Mrs. Cam Oliver, of
Walla Wnlla, Mrs. Ed. Cannon,
Everett, Mrs. John Brookler, of Em
met, Idaho, rind Mrs. Addie Saling, of

a new yo-ioot motor car is now
running between Pendleton and Uma
tilla and is giving west end residents
an improved service that is very much
appreciated. The old car was but 54
feet long and was always crowded to
capacity in coming into and leaving
Pendleton.
! The new car has a baggage room
a smoking room and a motor room
besides the main seating compartment
It is modern in every respect and af
fords a welcome relief from the con
gestion of tho old motor. The new
car has been on tho run about a week
now.
