"The Present World Crisis
In Prophesy"
A. Allan Yerex, lecturer for the Associated Bible
Students of Brooklyn, N. Y., will deliver a vitally
interesting lecture Saturday night Jan. 6 and
Monday night Jan. 8, each night at 7:30 p. m.,
at the Council Chamber, City Hall.
Very many are sorely perplexed .with respect to
this present world crisis. Mr. Yerex is convinced
the only solution is found in the Bible, where he
declares are to found many surprises for the
careful student in connection with this sub
ject. All are cordialy invited to hear his presentation
of both the prophetic and economic evidences.
The lecture is entirely free and in the interest of the people.

The Six Per Cent Limitation. '
One of the features of the coming
session of the legislature that will
prevent the meeting being one glal
round of pleasure, is that in connec
tion with the passing of six per cent
tax limitation law nracticallv all thn
departments are demanding increased
o-propriations. On the one hand the
r iple have said to the legislature:
J ou must conduct tho affairs of the
state within a certain limitation cf
funds." On the other hand the do.
partments are already telling the peo
ple oi me state tney must have more
money, or their branch of the state's
business will suffer. It is nice to bo
an Oregon legislator and draw three

mands for more coin bv pvprvnnp bIsb.
The members of the legislature can
hardly keep even and live within then
salaries, but they have to do it. They

"In the course of a conversation

Everyone speaks well of Chamber
Iain's Cough Remedy after having
used it. Mrs. George Lewis, Pittsfield
N. Y., has this to say regarding it:
"Last winter my little boy, five years
old, was sick with a cold for two or
three weeks. I doctored him and used
various cough medicines but nothing
did him much good until I began using
Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. He
then improved rapidly and in a few
days was over his cold."
