Vaicska Soratt makes her fcreen
re-appearanow for the last time to
night at the Sherry thoatre, in a new
William Fox picture, "The Straight
Way." Instead of Tiaving one of the
siren parts with whk-h the public has
grown to identify the eminent act
ress. Miss Suratt this time portrays
'a (rood woman, who has been thrown
off unjustly by her husband.
She seeks revenge on him through
his daughter. When her plot has suc
ruul he leams that the eirl was
iher own child. But the discovery of
a vital defect in the plot makes every
thing end happily, and the family is
reunited.
In the role of the husband, John
.Madison, Herbert Heyes, hero of
"Under Two Flags," appears. The
"heavy" of the film is Glen White,
whose excellent work is known to
niilliAna nf mnvio fans. Claire Wrhit-
'ney and Elsie Balfour have import
' ant roles.
I "The Straight Way" was written
and directed by Will S. Davis. Of
course Miss Suratt has opportunity
to wear innumerable beautiful gowns.
Sloan's Liniment Eases Pain.
Sloan's Liniment is first thought of
mothers for bumps, bruisM and
rprains that are continually happen
ing to children. It quickly penetrates
and soothes without rubbing. Cleaner
i-.r.i more effective than mussy plas
ters or ointments. For rheumatic
aches, neuralgia pain and that grippy
soreness after colds, Sloan's Liniment
pives prompt relief. Have a bottle
hai.dy for bruises, strains, sprains
rnd all external pain. For thr thou
sands whose work calls them outdoors,
the pains and aohes following expos
ure are relieved by Sloan's Liniment.

For the story of "The Lash" Paul
West has selected a forgotten little
island, St. Ba'tiste, and the drawing
rooms of a fashionable society. The
little island where the first few
scenes of the picture are laid, was
settled several centuries ago, by some
hardy voyagers from Brittany and al

i customs and the religious bigotry of
j its anrestors. The inhabitants are
; ruled by a "Prefect," whose word is
! oboslute law, and one of the customs
is that any woman sacrificing her
honor, is to be lashed, by the "Pre

heavy whip.
Miss Doro is seen as the daughter
of this "Prefect." She falls in love
with a young chap from the outer

She goes to the mainland and they

t How the girl of the island applies
the law of her ancestors to the society
butterfly, and eventually wins back
her husband, is brought about in a
manner which must be seen to be
understood and enjoyed. Miss Doro
is supported by a cast of unusual ex

artists as Elliott Dexter, James Neill,
Veda McEvers, Raymond Hatton,
Thomas Delmar, Jane Wolff and others.
