Ormi Hawley has the difficult part
of acting young sweetheart, aging
mother and then returning to act
young sweetheart again in the new
William Fox photodrama "Whera
Love Leads." But Bhe stands the
test well.
As Marion Barstow she is influ
enced by her parents to marry Sir
Rankin Chatsworth (Charles Craig,
an English earl, although she was in
love with a younger man.
Seventeen years later Marion has
been neglected by Sir Rankin, who
tired of her soon aftortho honeymoon.
She now has as her only consolation,
fcer two daughters, Kathleen (Ilocn
llumo) and Rose (Pauline Curlcy).
Sir Rankin brings a houseful of dis
reputable guests who drink and ca
rouse all night. Marion realizes that
hor daughters must not bo brought up
in such an atmosphere and has a scone
with Sir Rankin, but ho refuses to
mend his ways.
Marion's mother has written, beg
ging her to send tho girls to America
for a visit. She then takes tho girls
to tho steamer, and while bidding
good-byo to them, is approached by
Camille Dorc (Dorothy Rogers),
known as the Gold Queen in tho ten
derloin. Camille is traveling under an
assumed name, and as she is very re
spectable and aristocratic looking,
Marion does not hesitate to entrust
tho girls to her care. Camille sees
that she has made a find in the two
girls and cables a confederate to pre
vent the grandparents from meeting
tho steamer on the arrival.
The girls are rescued by Richard
' Warren, a newspaper man who had
been Marion s sweetheart before she
i was forced to marry tho English no
bleman. The former lovers are united

tain feudists and has been handled
with the realism characteristic of Ince
productions. Its many tense scenes
are framed in settings of unusual
picturesqueness, thus combining two
of the most important elements in
photoplay production.
Hart is cast as David Hudson, a
minister who is the eldest son of a
sturdy Kentucky mountaineer. He is
brought face to face "with the problem
of choosing between avenging the
death of his father, killed in a feud
battle, and abiding by the scriptural
teaching that "To me belongeth veng
eance and recompense." His decision
forms tho big scene of the story and
how he succeeds ultimately in restor
ing order among the warring factions
is forcefully depicted throughout the
remainder of the play.
In Hart's support will be seen such
well-known Ince-Triangle players as
Nona Thomas, Joseph J. Dowling,
Fanny Midgley, Jack Gilbert, and
Marvel Safford. The production was
directed by Hart and photographed by
Joe Augist.

Fearful of a rush of business in
the several days before Christmas
which will jam the postal Bystem so
that some mail will necessarily be
delayed, officials today came to bat
with the above warning.
"It is absolutely urgent," said one,
"that mail going to foreign countries

eries are hoped for. The censorship
of the belligerent countries spells de
