Because Bessie Gale, an actress,
made sure to protect herself from in

spends its leisure hours in pursuit of
pleasure along New York's "Great
White Way." Because she was left,
accidentally, stranded among the foot
hills of the Sierra Nevada mountains,
while on a theatrical tour, she met
and married a real man, albeit he was
a sheep herder. Because there came
to Bessie the longing to see once more
the "bright lights," and because she
listened to the call of the stage, Blue
bird Photoplays have been provided
with an excellent scenario for "The
Unattainable," the feature to be ex
hibited at the Sherry theatre today
and tomorrow with Dorothy Daven
port and Emory Johnson leading a
splendid company in an engaging en
tertainment. I'lctorially the work

aires in New York. Its dramatic ar

Dangling over the East River from
the roadway of a bridge is not Owen
Moore's idea of a good time, but that
is what he did for some of tho scenes
in the Famous Playeis adaptation of
Edgar Selwyn's celebrated comedy
drama "Rolling Stones" in which he
is co-starring at the Arcade Theatre
with Marguerite Courtot. Moore de
cides to commit suicide and then n9
suddenly decides to postpone the fes
tivities then the complications begin.
Remember this thrilling comedy-
drama will be shown only one night
tonight.

Northwest.
William S. Hart, admittedly Amer
ica's premier interpreter of rugged
frontier types, has the leading role in
' "The Primal Lure," Triangle-Ince pro
is duction of Vingie E. Roe's celebrated
novel of the same name, adapted for
the screen by J. G. Hawks, of the Ince
staff. It will be seen at the Arcade
Theatre Wednesday and Thursday.
"The Primal Lure" is an absorbing
drama of life in the great Canadian
Northwest. It recites the stirring
romance of Angus McConnell, a young
Scotch-Canadian factor, and Lois Le
Moyne, daughter of a French settlor
at the post. It is replete with thrill-
ng encounters with the Blackfoot
Indians, and teems with a love inter
est rivaled in its appeal only by the
picturesque beauty of the story's
background.
Hart has the role of McConnell and
he has invested it, it is declared, with
rare power. While the part is unlike
that of "Blaze" Tracy in "Hell's
! Hinges" or Steve Denton in "The Ary
j an," it hns provided the noted actor
! with the same opportunities for f orcc
i ful characterization.
I A small, though strong, cast ap
pears m support of Hart. It includes
Margery Wilson as Lois Le Moyne
