ARC A DE
"Pasquale"' Last Time Tonight
As is so often noticed in every iy
life in "Pasquale" the Oliver Moros
ci photoplay that appears at ths Ar
cidt for the la, tirm- tonight, it is
the small, apparently trivial things
that occur that lead to great events.
, If the knock had not come at the
door just as Margarita -was about to
find Pasquale's quaintly written note
of proposal under her plate
If Martinelll the (banker and Italian
reservist had not happened to return
home from the front just as his wife
waj being admonished not to cry by
too intimate Bod Fulton .
If Charlie Larkins had not -come
home drunk that night, Margarita
never would have found Pasquale's
pathetic note and she never would
have known the truth
If Bob Fulton, Mrs. Martinelli and
Churlie Larkins had not had the ter
libla automobile accident ,then the
remarkable story of Pasquale never
could have been written.
Betty of Graystone.
' Sunday tho Arcade offers a good.
old-fashioned romantic picture, "Bet
ty of Graystone." Dorothy Gish, the
popular Triangle star, who already
has so many successes to her credit,
' "The Spell of the Yukon," a new
Metro wonderplay produced by Pop
ular Plays and Players under the di- 'j
rection of Burton King, will be seen 'i
at the Sherrv theatre Sunrfav nnlv. I
"The Spell of the Yukon" is another
picture adapted from the poem of the
same name, by Robert W. Service,
whose "Shooting of Dan McGrew"
proved to be such a good film. The
new picture reproduces, the rough,
wild life of the Alaskan gold-fields,
the devii-may-caire spirit of the dance
halls and gambling dens, and then, as
a foil to all this, the culture an dre
flnement of New York's smart set.
There are thrilling scenes of .the stock
market, when fortunes are won and
lost in' an hour, and then there is the
wholesome influence of a girl and boy
love affair. Edmund Breese is the
star of the production, and Christine
Mayo is his leading woman.

Without Further Cost To -You
I N our previous advertisements we have, shown you that the magnifi
. cent Community Mausoleum soon to be erected in La Grande will be
a permanent structure. Perhaps it has occurred to you that repairs
would be needed at some time in the future no matter how careful the
construction and you have wondered how the expense would be met.
OERE is .the explanation: For every crypt or tomb in the Mausoleum
the Portland Mausoleum Company sets aside, in trust, the sum of
Ten Dollars as part of an endowment fund, thus a building of 150 crypts
will have an endowment fund of Fifteen Hundred Dollars.
jP ACII subscriber to the Community Mausoleum automatically becomes
a member of a Benevolent Association which is the absolute owner
of the Community Mausoleu-n. Thru a Board of Trustees, elected from
among themselves, the members of the Assr ?'ation administer the affairs
of the Mausoleum, including the trust fund and its increase. In this way
the first cost of crypts or tombs is the only cost.
