ARCADE
I his tin Farnum in "David Garricli.'
The good old days with their
happy carefree views of life are ad
mirably shown in the Pallas plliioto
play "David Garrick" released on the
Paramount program and which will
be shown at the Arcade on Friday nnd
Saturday.
The big scene in the old Nag's
Head tavern is Wonderfully staged.
In the spacious room are gathered
ninny quaint types.
The poet with his parchment script,
the sporting gentry with their game
cocks that soon are in deadly combat,
the richly dressed gentlemen of title,
the prize fight enthusiasts in friendly
bout, the gambling tables witih the
solemn players drinking from the
leather drinking mugs, the now ob
solete mannerisms, all are of inter
ests as being true-to-life touches of
by-gone days. This atmosphere
frames a charming love story of the
great Gnrrick.
Considering their utter dissatisfac
tion with Mr. Wilson's selections for
thu supreme court, it's a wonder the
Republicans would forve him to fill
another vacancy. Nashville Southern
