Club of Orange, N. J., which has just set a nw standard for the evening
gown. Mrs. Edison appeared recently at a dinner given by U Illumina

with every invitation:
"The subscribers have so generally co-operated with the Social Commit
tee in raising the standard of dancing that the committee turns to them
again to ask their further co-operation in establishing a proper standard
of dress. This request is made owing to the present extreme style of
evening gowns, and also to foiestall the necessity of criticism by members
