The photodramatic version of this
classic was written especially for Air-.

the famous playwripht. It is a Para

Theodore Roberts, one of the most
distinguished artists on the American
stage, since the time he has been with
the Lasky company, bait proven him
self to be one of the favorites of the
screen.
For the photod:-amatic version of
"Pudd'nhead Wilson," the Iasky com

into the history of that period andVtho
exterior scenes were filmed in tihe lit

relics of the old nays beore the war.

to present as backgrounds the exotic

IMPROVE TROPICAL PICTURES
'The Ruling Passion" Solves Climate
Problem.
Perfect motion picture photography
Dodge Brothers

around the fever mark, was solved m
the making of the William Fox pro
duction, "The Ruling Passion," in
Jamaica. The film was developed in
special laboratories erected for the
purpose.
One of the most impo:tant tfingj
learned concerning the making of mo
tion pictures in tropical climates has
to do with the shipping of the raw
film from the point of production. If
raw film is shipped from the manu
facturer already perforated, wijh its
sprocket holes bored, it will have g
tendency to shrink, as tfhe air of tha
tropics is almost certain to penetrate
the shipping can, no matter how ap
parently secure the same may be
sealed. For producing a film which
will permit of perfect projection, the
perfoiation should be made upon the
spot when working in tropical cli
mates, as was done in the film used 1.1
"The Ruling Passion," Otherwise the
shrinkage of the film will cause un
steadiness when the picture is pro
jected on the screen. Last day at
Sherry's today.
