Note : Folks in town and adjoining
counties are delighted with the results
they have obtained by using "ANUBIC,"
the newest discovery of Dr. Pierce, who
is head of the Invalids' Hotel and
Surgical Institute, in Buffalo, N. Y.
Those who started the day with a back-

an aching head (worn out before the
day began because they were in and out
of bed half a dozen times at night ) are
appreciating the perfect rest, comfort
and new. strength they obtained from
Dr. Pierce's Anurio Tablets. To prove
that this is a certain urio acid solvent
and conquers headache, kidney and
bladder diseases and rheumatism, if
you've never used the "Amino," cut
this out and send ten cents to Doctor
Pierce for a large sample package. This
will prove to you that "Anurio" is
thirty -seven times more active than
lithia in eliminating urio acid and the
moBt perfect kidney and bladder cor
rector. If you are a sufferer, go to your
best druggist and ask for a 50-cent box
of Anurio." You run no risk for Dr.
Pierce's good name stands behind this
wonderful new discovery as it has for
the past half oentury for Ms "Golden
Medioal Discovery," a general tonio
made from roots with pure glycerine
which makes the blood pure, his "Fa
vorite Prescription" for weak women
and "Pleasant Pellets ' for liver ills.

Losses in Hint Cereal Greater Than
All Others Say Critics
Washington, D. C. Feb. 18. The
avonip.e i.nnual losses from smut in
oats are greater tht.n tfcose caused
by :iny other preventable cereal dis
ease in the United St:ues. Treating
the seed vith hot water tor with form
aldehyde solution before sowing is an
easy, cheap, and effective way of
preventing this disease. The lat
ter method whidh is the one most
available for general . use, is hejre
briefly summarized. iBoth methods
are described in. detail in Farmer's
Bulletin C07, which will bo sent free
vi application to the Secretary of
Agriculture, Washington, D. C.
Mix the formalin (a commercial
preparation which is 37 per cent for
maldehyde by weight) with water at
tho rate of 1 pound (a little less than
a pint) to 40 gallons of water. The
gain may be either loosely inclosed
in sacks or put loose into a tub or vat
with the solution. Agitate the sacks
or stir the loose grain occasionally
so that tho entire surface of every
gram will be thoroughly wet. .
Instead of being immersed the seed
oats may be spread on a clean floor (
ur vtuivus unu sjirLiiKicu wuin une
solution and shoveled over during the
process so that they will be wet even
ly as in the other method. Not over
a gallon of solution will be needed for
every bushel of dry grain. After
sprinkling, shovel the seed into a
pile, cover it witlh, sacks wet with the
solution, and allow it to stand for at
least two hours before spreading it
out to dry.
Precaution: The oats may be
seeded as soon as dry enough to run
through the drill. If the seed is
still moist, however, the drill must
be set to sow moro to the acre than
if it is dry. The quantity which
should be sown may be determined by
measuring a given bulk and after
treatment and (figuring the propor
tion of increase. After treating do
not expose the seed to freezing until
it is thoroughly dry.
Do not allow the treated seed to
come into contact with old sacks, bins
or machinery in which tihere may be
smut spores. If such must be used.
scald them or wash them first withfi
the formaldehyde solution.
